A Bond Pricing Model for Renewable Energy Enterprises Integrating Textual and Numerical Multi-Modal Information

Accurate bond pricing for renewable energy enterprises remains a persistent challenge due to the complex interplay of financial fundamentals, regulatory dynamics, and rapidly evolving non-numeric signals embedded in corporate disclosures. This study introduces a unified modeling framework that systematically integrates unstructured textual data—such as sustainability reports, earnings call transcripts, and regulatory filings—with structured numerical inputs—including balance sheet metrics, cash flow profiles, credit ratios, and project-level generation forecasts. Rather than treating text as auxiliary noise or applying heuristic sentiment scores, the model employs a dual-encoding architecture grounded in information-theoretic alignment: one pathway distills semantic coherence and forward-looking commitment signals from narrative content, while the other captures temporal risk exposure and liquidity constraints from time-series financial variables. The integration occurs through latent-space fusion, preserving modality-specific fidelity while enabling joint inference on default likelihood, yield spread sensitivity, and maturity-adjusted valuation. Empirical validation across a global cohort of publicly traded renewable energy firms demonstrates consistent improvement in out-of-sample pricing accuracy relative to conventional duration- and rating-based benchmarks, particularly during periods of policy transition or technology inflection. The framework further reveals systematic mispricing patterns tied to discrepancies between disclosed strategic intent and operational execution timelines, offering actionable insight for both issuers optimizing debt structure and investors assessing credit resilience beyond traditional metrics.References
